Jennifer Kate Hudson (born September 12th, 1981), also known by her name J.Hud, is an American actor, singer, and talk show host. In her professional life she has won numerous awards for her work in film, recorded music TV, and theatre. Hudson became the youngest and the second woman of African descent to receive all four major American entertainment awards, which include Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony (EGOT). In 2013, she was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Time declared her one of the top 100 influential people around the world in 2020. She gained notoriety as a finalist in American Idol's third season 2004, where she placed seventh. She made her film debut in the role of Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls (2006), for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress as the youngest African American to win in a category for acting competition.
