This was despite of her fierce divorce battle. Angelina claimed that she was in financial straits and demanded additional financial help from Brad Pitt. According to court records, Pitt gave $8 million to Jolie for a down payment towards the Cecil B. Demille home. She didn't have the funds. It is likely that Angelina has a lot of money in trusts and investments. Jolie and Pitt agreed that they didn't need prenups as they each had net worths in more than $100 million at the time they tied the knot in 2014. Jolie is now asking where she can find her money. One answer is that she did not want to divest her possessions to pay for an apartment because she was aware that Pitt would almost certainly be obligated to provide her the funds.
