Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani has a net worth $86 billion. Mukesh Ambani's wealth is a result of his employment at Reliance Industries. This Fortune 500 company is where he is the managing director, chairman and the largest shareholder. He is the younger brother of and two sisters. In 1958 the family moved back to India and his father began a business of trading in spices and textiles in Mumbai.In 1980 the Indian government opened polyester filament yarn (PFY) manufacturing to the private sector and Ambani's father applied for a license to set up a PFY manufacturing facility, beating out forty other enterprises to receive the approval. Ambani was the oldest of the children of the family. His father, who valued practical experiences over academic knowledge, pulled him out of Stanford's MBA program to assist in the construction of the PFY facility. After the death of Rasikbhai Meswani who was executive director, as well as his father's strokein 1986, Ambani and Anil were appointed the new directors of the company.
