International Women's Day takes place March 8th, 2022. The theme for this year's #BreakTheBias is All of us have biases. It's just an inherent part of human beings. Our collective biases be seen in the culture and systems that contribute to gender inequities."Gender prejudices and gender stereotypes have become so deep-rooted in our society that everyone of all ages fall into gender pitfalls," says Rachel Thomas co-founder and CEO of LeanIn.Org and OptionB.Org. "For instance, many of us undervalue women's abilities and are more likely to challenge women's competence--even in their area of expertise. The research on feedback during review of performance shows that women are more likely to be criticized for their personal style as opposed to men. All of this implies that women are less likely than men to be promoted to the initial managerial-level critical position. Even with the improvements we've seen over the past couple of years in women's representation the leadership ranks, only one of four C-suite executives is a woman , and just one out of 25 C-suite managers is a person of race."
