Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 1982) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out high school in order to move in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. While struggling financially she landed her first role as the title character in the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in 2001. Her portrayal of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to pursue an even more prominent role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The actress has also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised the role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. In 2013, she was in the seventh season Californication. She plays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she's the daughter and older sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager her career began as a small part-time actress for her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko alongside her sister. Then she appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama), and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. After a string of commercially successful films, like World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Following her acclaimed performance as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she went on to star in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (12). In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen as a character in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). Her most recent roles were as the main character The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a director and writer in 2021, with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
