Karen Sheila Gillan (/'gIl@n/ born on 28 November 1987) is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. She became famous for her work on British TV and film especially for her role as Amy Pond, a primary character in the Eleventh Doctor in the science fiction show Doctor Who (2010-2013), for which she was awarded numerous nominations and awards. Jane Lockhart and Ally were her first roles in film as part of the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending (2013). While in Britain she also performed on stage, initially performing in John Osborne's play Inadmissible Evidence (2011), then making her Broadway debut in Time to Act (2013). She was the first American actress to be a star in Oculus (2013), which was her first commercial success. She then played the main part in Selfie (2014). Her international fame was achieved through playing Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
