Matt Brown

 Matthew Burton Brown, born on January 10, 1981 is an American mixed martial artist who fights in the Welterweight division at the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Professionally competitive since 2004, Brown was one of the contestants on the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter television series and holds the current record for the most knockouts in UFC Welterweight history.Brown was born and raised in Jamestown, Ohio. After being home schooled for two years, he attended Greeneview High School, where it was a struggle to make friends. Being in a small town , with no future beyond an unpaid manufacturing job as a machinist Brown became frustrated and turned to alcohol and drugs. For a time that lasted for a while, he was dependent on meth, frequently consuming cocaine, and was often entangled into fights with friends at gatherings. When he was in his early 20s, he was able to recover from a heroin overdose (which resulted in his nickname "The Immortal"), was homeless and been in prison. Brown became interested in MMA when he started practicing submission holds while drunk. He had seen Ken Shamrock's VHS tapes on his friends and was inspired to take up MMA.
