Scotty Maurice Pippen Sr. (born on September 25 1965) commonly called Scottie Pippen, is an American professional basketball player who played in the past. He was a part of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 17 seasons, winning six NBA championships together with his team, the Chicago Bulls. One of the most admired small forwards ever, Pippen, along with Michael Jordan, played an important role in transforming the Bulls into a championship team and in increasing the popularity of the NBA throughout the world in the 1990s.Pippen was selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team eight times in succession as well as the All-NBA First Team three times. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star, and the NBA All-Star Game MVP for 1994. He was listed as among the 50 greatest Players in NBA History during the 1996-97 season. He was also the fourth player to be honored with a jersey retirement by the Chicago Bulls (the others being Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, and Jordan). He was an integral part of both the Chicago Bulls Championship and 1996 Chicago Bulls Championship teams, which were chosen as two of the Top 10 Teams.
