 Imelda Marcos net worth: Imelda Marcos is an Filipino politician and ambassador with a peak net worth of $5 billion. Imelda Marcos was born Imelda Remedios Visitacion Trinidad Romualdez in Manila, Philippines in July 1929. She was the wife of former Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos and makes up half of the Philippine government's conjugal dictatorship. Her collection of more than 1000 shoes is what makes her famous. Before she met her husband, she was a singer and model. She traveled across the globe, collecting art and real estate with the help of posts she held within the government. She was Ambassador Plenipotentiary, Extraordinary, Minister of Human Settlements and Governor of Metropolitan Manila. The President Marcos was accused of killing Benigno Aquino, Jr., which caused the People Power Revolution that forced the couple to resign and into exile in Hawaii. Then, they were granted amnesty and were allowed to return to the Philippines. Her collection of shoes is currently displayed in the National Museum of the Philippines. Imelda Marcos was the subject of the documentary Imelda in 2003.
