 Spencer Michael Rattler (born September 28th in 2000) is an American football quarterback who plays in the college football league for South Carolina. Rattler started his college career at Oklahoma before moving to South Carolina in 2021.Going into his redshirt freshman season, Rattler competed with Tanner Mordecai for the position of starting quarterback. Lincoln Riley announced on September 1 that Rattler was selected to start the season as the quarterback in place of Mordecai. Rattler made his debut against Missouri State on September 12. Rattler broke the Oklahoma record for touchdowns with 8 passes in two weeks on September 26. This record was set by Sam Bradford back in 2008. But, his first start began with a rough beginning when he and the Sooners were upset by Kansas State in his second game. Rattler was successful in throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns in his third try at Iowa State. The loss ended the streak of 24 consecutive home defeats by Iowa State to Oklahoma. Rattler as well as the Sooners were able to come back by winning against Texas in the Red River Rivalry game. Rattler was a part of the second half of the College Football Playoff Semi-Final game against LSU. Overall, he appeared in three games during the 2019 season,
